Resources

MaSA believes strongly in supporting animal care and control professionals in as many ways as possible.

Position Statements: MaSA recognizes that agencies can often benefit from having the opinion of professional animal care and control organizations to support their own. Below, MaSA has provided position statements on such issues as ballistic vests, certification training, and more. These Word file position statements are available to animal care and control professionals at no charge. Use them as a guide to write your own version or delete our logo and insert your own.

Resources: Development of new forms, policies and procedures, job descriptions, and a host of other paperwork is time consuming. MaSA believes it is better to adapt paperwork to suit your specific needs than to re-invent the wheel. In response, we offer a variety of resources such as some Common Forms; Job Descriptions; and Policy and Procedures as a pdf file at no charge to use as a guide in developing your own. Or, see the Products tab to find resources packages for purchase where you can swap out the logo and relevant agency information and you’re good to go.

Development Packages: MaSA has prepared several comprehensive packages which agencies may purchase. These packages, which include ordinance development; disaster response planning; policy and procedures; and forms, are ready for you to download, and fill in the blanks, inserting your logo, name and contact information. Each Development Package comes on a flashdrive. See the Products tab for ordering.

Community Outreach Package         $15

MaSA promotes community outreach as essential to an animal care and control organization's positive public image and effective community relations. This package contains electronic files of a variety of bi- and trifold brochures, posters, and signs which can be used in an agency's community outreach program. Each brochure, poster, or sign has space available to customize the material to your community’s needs and your agency's information.

Animal Care in Disaster Planning Package       $25

Among other things, the Federal Pets Evacuation and Transportation Standards (PETS) Act of 2006 requires all local emergency management plans to include a section pertaining to the response to animals affected by disasters. Disaster planning is a process which includes assessing your community’s risks and exposures, and developing a plan for emergency field and shelter operations as well as resource assessment and development. This electronic package covers disaster preparedness planning from A to Z, and includes brochures and checklists that will help community members prepare to evacuate their pets during disaster situations.
